STARS is a program supporting talented PhD students at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The aim of this program is to provide excellent education and an adequate income to PhD students of the Faculty. The STARS program wants to attract the best students from the Czech Republic as well as from abroad. The Alan Lomax Fellowship in Folklife Studies 2012
The Alan Lomax Fellows Program, established for a period of five years, supports scholarly research that contributes significantly to a greater understanding of the work of Lomax and the cultural traditions he documented over the course of a vigorous and highly productive seventy-year career. It provides an opportunity, for a period of up to 8 months, for concentrated use of materials from the Lomax Collection and other collections of the Library of Congress, through full-time residency at the Library.

Like the RIBA Awards for Scotland Scheme which operated up to 2011, we anticipate presenting a number of RIAS Awards each year. Only one submission and one entry fee is required. As this is the first year of this new awards process, entrants should note that projects previously submitted for RIBA Awards in Scotland are not eligible.

ICSID (International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes) is pleased to announce the annual ICSID Review—Foreign Investment Law Journal Student Writing Competition. Current law students are invited to submit an article on a procedural or substantive issue in international investment arbitration by May 1, 2012. The author of the winning submission will receive a cash prize of US$1000.00 and will have his or her essay published in a future issue of the ICSID Review.

GDF SUEZ / MAEE International Scholarship for Masters France 2012
The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and GDF SUEZ have decided to create a programme to host and support high-level foreign students in France. The co-financed GDF SUEZ / MAEE scholarship programme for the 2012-2013 academic year is aimed at students from Brazil, Chile, India and Lebanon who are currently studying in their country. For the 2012-2013 academic year, four to six scholarships will be awarded.
